Anamaria Marinca is a Romanian actress. Her debut on screen was in The Channel 4 film Sex Traffic where she received the British Academy Television Award for Best actress. She speaks French, German, English as well as Romanian fluently. Her mother was a violinist and her father is a theater instructor in one of Romania's top theater schools. The actress won the Best Female Actor Award for the Year 2000 at the Gala for Young Actors in Mangalia. It was the European Film Promotion Board named her as a European Shooting Star in 2008. In addition, she appeared in Francis Ford Coppola's film Youth Without Youth. She appeared as Yasim Awar in the BBC's 5 episode The Last Enemy miniseries. Marinca made an appearance in The Romanian drama Boogie and Oliver Hirschbiegel's award-winning Five Minutes of Heaven. In the feature film Fury (2014) the actress played Irma, a German woman, who served as Emma's aunt.
